Natalie Babbitt

On this episode goodconversationsradio we thrilled to be talking with one of our greatest children’s authors of all time, Natalie Babbitt. Her book, “Tuck Everlasting” published now by MacMillan, is celebrating its 40th year of publication. Now you figure if there are 3,000 children’s books published each year that means that “Tuck Everlasting” has clawed its way through 120,000 books to be one of the most beloved children’s books of all time.

Description

The main question of “Tuck Everlasting” – would you want to live forever is one of the most talked about and discussed questions of all time. There have been a couple of movies made of “Tuck” – one of which had the Disney seal of approval. And now there is a musical of “Tuck Everlasting” that will appear on Broadway next year.

A personal note before we start this conversation. I went up to Cape Cod to interview Natalie for my “Good Conversation!” series of programs and don’t know if it was something special in the air, maybe a great subject or perhaps I finally got my chops as an interviewer because I still remember that conversation as being one of my best.  Natalie Babbitt is wonderful!
