Description
Today I am pleased to have Lee Bennett Hopkins as my guest. Lee is everything and anything that is children’s poetry. Not only does he hold the Guinness Book of World Records for most prolific anthologist of poetry for children, he also has the Lee Bennett Hopkins poetry award that is given once every three years to the most promising poet for children.
Personally, he has won just about every award conceivable for his own poetry for children and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.
Right now he is out with his book called “Manger” - a collection of poems that provides readers with children’s poetry connected to the Nativity -- at times gently humorous, at times profound, but always inviting readers to appreciate the wonder of Christmas. This book is a perfect gift for the holiday season.
Listen to Lee and I discuss everything from his own poetry, to other’s work and where he sees children’s poetry going in the future.
